Second To None e’ ottimizzato per Firefox, Safari, Chrome e Opera.

Are there changes to any files in the theme other than “style.css” in the 2.0.2 update?
No Sam. I’ve only added an icon and changed some styles… version 2.1 is coming soon with major changes in it. Stay tuned!
By the way: I’ve translated the post about the favicon…
Thank you!
Hello Danny,
thank you for your work. But I have a problem … some characters don’t show in my language … as á for example. I miss something in install instructions? I need make something to activate the ‘sIFR’?
Thanks in advance
joao barroca
ps. my lang is brazilian portuguese and my wp are in utf-8
* complement – the trouble with á à ê are in titles…
tks
Hello Joao, you can download again the theme, is now updated and displays the characters you sent me.
Hi Danny,
I’m having an issue with the theme. I haven’t done anything but installed thematic 0.9 and Second to None per instructions… as far as I know. But the layout is flawed and I wondered if you could point the issue out? It’s a new blog so I’ll leave the problematic version live for a day or two so you can check it out if you have time. In any event, it looks great here… I really hope I can get it to work on my site. Thanks, James

Ok, i’ve found out the problem. Look at this line:
href="http://007sqlmojo.com/wp-content/themes/second_to_none_2/second_to_none/style.css" />
You have to move up the folder “second_to_none”. one level up. cut the deepest one and paste it over the first one.
Hope it’s clear enough!
Hi Danny,
tks for your reply but – unfortunately – don’t work. I link 2 screenshots showing a post [in draft] and this test-post when published. You will see another charecters are missing [titles or h1 or h2].
Tks for your help

* a note: when I’m testing I see the theme works fine in preview mode
Hi Danny
You can change my comments to jbarroca@gmail.com [barroca with 2 R ]. I’ve post wrong email … sorry and thanks, once more
João
The problem is that those characters are not embedded in the font I’ve used on STN.
so, send me a list with ALL portuguese characters that you possibly use. I will embed them in the theme. use dannydamnboy [at] gmail.[com].
Hello Danny,
tks once more – I will send the email … but I can change the font [to verdana, for example] to make this easy?
But I will send , of course.
All the best
joão barroca
Sure, you can. But the solution is simple. Once I have the list of characters, there will be no more problems.
Hello Danny,
email already send 😀
tks a lot [again]

* a little sugestion … you can change the .swf font? to verdana, or another font with this characters …
Awesome… that took care of it. Thanks for taking the time… that would have taken me forever to figure out. 😉 Appreciate it… great theme.
Sorry, it was my fault!!! Downlaod it now, it works (i’ve tested it!)
YES!
you rocks! tks a lot
But – sorry – my fault – I miss ê Ê … but I can use without this. Theme online!
all the best
joao
Joao, the file is updated. Downlaod it again!
Perfect ! Thank you!
I’m using this theme…and I think it’s great. I’m not sure which version I have however.
I would like to see a 2 column version as well. I use theme to showcase my photography, and I would like to keep the width, but be able to show much wider images.
Also, I have one page password protected, and the submit button adn the text are both white, so you cannot see what you’re typing or what the button says:

Hello Jeremy, I’ve planned a two cols version, it will be available next week.
About the button issue:
please add
.entry-content submit {color:#000;}
to your style.css.
Hi Danny,
I’ve tried to implement my logo as in the header as a replacement for the blog title using the following code:
}
#blog-title {
background:url(images/logo.jpg) no-repeat top center; /* adds in the logo image */
display:block; /* We do this so we can add a background image */
text-indent:-9000px; /* Hides the text--but not from search engines */
height: 135px; /* height of your logo, like 180px */
width: 612px; /* width of your logo, like 940px */
}
But I would like the logo to be a clickable link (ideally to my home page). How do I make my logo clickable using this method?
You have to set #blog-title a to the same dimension of the image:
#blog-title a
height: 135px; /* height of your logo, like 180px */
width: 612px; /* width of your logo, like 940px */
Thanks for the suggestion, Danny. I tried that, however, and it didn’t seem to make any difference on my site.
Can you spot anything else in my code that would prevent the logo in the header from being clickable?
Ok Sam, please open sifr-config.js in sifr directory and remove any line that refers to #blog-title. and take a look also in sifr-css: if there is any reference to #blog-title, delete it.
It looks like a combination of changing the sifr files and the #blog title anchor seems to have done it. Thank you for the help. I’m learning a lot in this process, and I’m glad I picked a theme with such a knowledgeable and helpful creator. Sam
Danny,
I can’t seem to find where to insert the little bit of CSS you’re giving me. Has this been added to the standard theme?? I could just download that style sheet and go from there.
Also, I’ll be the first to download the 2 column version. Might I suggest keeping the width of the 3 column version ??
Yeah, please download it again!
2 cols version is on its way, I’m sorry but I had no time to develop it!
Hi Danny,
I was curious how difficult it would be to change the CSS to allow the main column to align left in order to use more screen space. What would have to be altered in the stylesheet to accomplish that?
Thanks,
James
Hi James, what do you mean exactly? don’t you want it centered? Could you provide an illustration?
Second To None 2 columns version is available for download!
Hey Danny,
Thanks for putting the 2 column theme up…except that I get an error message saying that the zip file is corrupt.
Sure…. I just would like the theme to stretch to fill out the whole screen. For an example look at this blog about ajax and related coding.
So I guess I’m saying, yeah, not centered.
Since I display code using the whole screen allows for more readable examples.
I’m sorry Jeremy, please download it again.
I’m going to publish a resizable layout Second to None. Please come back to download it sometime soon!
That’ll be terrific. Will keep on a look out for it.
Hey Danny,
I’ve noticed that when using IE7 to view my site (certainly not a browser that I ever use), the vertical placement of the primary aside is askew. It is drawn much further up than the main content of the page.
Unfortunately, I don’t have easy access to a PC running IE7 (I’m on a Mac), so this isn’t something I can easily troubleshoot and test myself. Do you have any suggestions about fixing this?
Sam L. Richards
Hey Sam, please add
.ie7 #primary{
margin:70px 0 0;
}
to your style.css.
Please set margin-top to fit your needs!
I forgot that browser specific css could be added. Thanks for clarifying this for me. Your help is incredibly valuable and very educational!
Sam L. Richards

.Hello Danny,
I really loved your Thematic-based WordPress theme, but my blogs are in Bulgarian language, which uses Cyrillic letters. I don’t know if the font you used for sIFR has Cyrillics at all, so here’s a nice alternative, that’s also free: http://www.fonts.info/info/press/free-fonts-for-font-face-embedding.htm
A list of most commonly used Cyrillic characters can be found at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyrillic_characters_in_Unicode (“character” column under “Basic Russian alphabet” header).
Would it be possible to include those as well in the SWF file?
Hello Boby, I think Cyrillic letters are not embedded in the swf, I will take a look asap. the other method is a really good method but is based on CSS 3 and IE (above other browsers) doesn’t supports CSS 3 as I writing. If you can send me a list of Cyrillic letters I will embed them in the swf if they’are not embedded yet. let me know.
Hey, thanks for you reply. Cyrillics are not embedded, I tried that – that’s main reason for my previous comment.
Here’s the list (copy/pasted from the URL I provided above):
Ð, а, Б, б, Ð’, в, Г, г, Д, д, Е, е, Ж, ж, З, з, И, и, Й, й, К, к, Л, л, Ðœ, м, Ð, н, О, о, П, п, Ð , Ñ€, С, Ñ, Т, Ñ‚, У, у, Ф, Ñ„, Ð¥, Ñ…, Ц, ц, Ч, ч, Ш, ш, Щ, щ, Ъ, ÑŠ, Ы, Ñ‹, Ь, ÑŒ, Ð, Ñ, Ю, ÑŽ, Я, Ñ
Also, if the font you’re using for sIFR does not have Cyrillic glyphs, you might need to use another font. Hence the link to the free font in my previous comment.
